she's 13, and her Mom isn't available to mother her right now (due to some major personal problems). My niece lives with her Dad and two of her brothers.
I'm the only close female who can step into my sister's shoes, but I'm lost. I just had to teach my niece about feminine products, and she didn't know you could get pregnant before you ever got a period, and she didn't know there are diseases a condom can't prevent.
I'm doing my best to educate her, but I'm overwhelmed. I'm also held back by the fact that I'm not her parent...I'd share anything big with my brother-in-law (obviously), but these little things are scaring the crap out of me!
